Kia has officially released photos and info about the changes to the 2011 Sorento. The biggest change is that the Sorento will ditch its current body-on-frame design for a unibody structure. The overall length and width have been increased giving the Sorento the ability to hold up to seven passengers.
The 2011 Sorento will offer the choice of two engines, a 172-hp 2.4L 4-cylinder or a 273-hp 3.5L V6. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive being optional.
The Sorento will be the first vehicle to be built at Kia's new manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia. It will hit showrooms in January 2010.
